The recent advancements in the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) across various domains, particularly cybersecurity and education, have demonstrated significant potential for enhancing operational efficiency and learning outcomes. In cybersecurity, LLMs are being fine-tuned for specific tasks such as domain generation algorithm (DGA) detection and continuous intrusion detection in next-gen networks. These models show promise in adapting to new threats rapidly and maintaining high accuracy in detection and classification tasks. Notably, the use of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) has been explored to improve the relevance and timeliness of LLM outputs, especially in dynamic fields like cybersecurity. In educational settings, LLMs combined with RAG are being tested to provide up-to-date and contextually relevant information to students, though challenges remain in selecting appropriate data sources and optimizing chunk sizes for effective information retrieval. Overall, the integration of LLMs with specialized datasets and RAG techniques is paving the way for more adaptive and accurate systems in both cybersecurity and education.
